Dr. Justin Bryson

After receiving his Bachelor's Degree in 2012, and while earning his Master's Degree in 2016, Dr. Bryson held administrative, teaching and coaching positions in neighboring school districts before joining the Springfield Local Schools' administrative team in 2019 (as Mr. Bryson) as Springfield High School's Assistant Principal, Curriculum and the year after moving on to a new position in 2020, as Dorr Elementary Principal. In September, 2021, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy, School Leadership Ph.D. through Concordia University. Dr. Bryson also holds additional educational certifications, his Superintendent's license and possesses previous experience as an elementary principal. Superintendent Matt Geha shared, "Dr. Bryson's work over the past several years at Springfield High School has allowed us to witness his talents. I am excited for Dr. Bryson to continue his administrative climb and lead here at the district office as 6-12 curriculum coordinator." In August of 2024, Dr. Bryson was promoted from Dorr Elementary Principal was hired as the district's Curriculum Coordinator for grades 6-12.
Mrs. Jen Murphy

Mrs. Jen Murphy is a proud community member and parent to two students at Springfield High School. She joined Springfield Local Schools as an employee in January 2020 as the Attendance Secretary at Holland Elementary, now known as Holland Intermediate. In June of 2020 she became the Secretary to the Principal at Holland Intermediate and held that position for 3 years. In October 2023 she transitioned to the Administration Office as the Enrollment Coordinator, assisting families in their educational journey with Springfield Local Schools. Mrs. Murphy is currently serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Affairs.

The Springfield Local Schools' Teaching and Learning Department oversees the district's curriculum, instruction, intervention, assessment, and the professional development opportunities provided for certified staff.
Mrs. Taryn Miley

Taryn Miley, a proud alumna of Springfield High School, brings over 29 years of dedication to education. She began her career at Crissey Elementary, where she taught for 17 years. Recognizing her expertise, strong background in curriculum, and proficiency as a certified OLAC trainer with deep knowledge of the Ohio Improvement Process and collaborative structures, Mrs. Miley transitioned into various administrative roles within the district. In 2022, she became Director of Teaching and Learning, and in July 2023, her commitment to academic excellence led to her elevation to Assistant Superintendent of Academic Affairs. Mrs. Miley champions the enhancement of literacy practices and the development of strong teacher leaders within the Springfield community. #springfieldstrong!
