Welcome to Springfield Local Schools Food Service Department

Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, all breakfast and lunch meals will be provided free of cost for all Springfield Local Schools' students.

Springfield Local Schools' food service professionals pride themselves on preparing and offering students nutritional, delicious meal choices each school day!

Annually, the Department undergoes an Administrative/Compliance Audit conducted by the Ohio Department of Education's Office of Child and Nutrition. We are pleased to share that the department met all of the rigorous performance standards. The kitchens at each school also underwent on-site inspections and received high marks from the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department!

The District offers both students and parents the convenience of an online management of student accounts. Funds (American currency only) can be deposited into student accounts using envelopes provided at the school or via credit/debit cards. For those choosing cash options, deposit drop boxes are located in each school's main office.

USDA Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended its program for all school districts to offer FREE breakfast and lunch meals to ALL students each school day, a program that began last school year. This meal program will last until May 26, 2022, or while the USDA funds are available. Please note that a la carte milk and snacks are not part of this free meal plan.

Please note that our “Fee Waiver Application & Free or Reduced-Price School Meal Application” is still used for the consideration of the waiving of fees/assessments for Springfield Local Schools, so those who may qualify should submit this application for the purpose of the waiver of fees for the 2021-2022 school year. Also, if the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program were to be extended, families may receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if this application has been completed.
