    New Operating Levy - 0.5% (Half Percent) Earned Income Tax on the Ballot November 3, 2026

    This new levy, if passed, would begin collection in January of 2027. If passed, this Operating Levy would collect a 0.5% (half percent) of Earned Income for Springfield/Holland residents. As detailed by the Ohio State Auditor's Office, a half percent Earned Income Tax would generate $4,200,000 per year (4.2 million dollars). An Earned Income Tax doe NOT collect on the following retirement plans and retirement investments:

    An Earned Income Tax does not generate money for the district at a set rate immediately like past Property Tax levies did. Earned Income Tax has a slower return rate to the district that could take up to a year to complete.
